Work Placement for Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (FE and Skills)

At Britannia School of Academics, we pride ourselves on being a pioneer of change so that we can meet the diverse needs of our trainee teachers. Therefore, in response to a huge demand for work placements at two different locations to fulfil the practical requirement of Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (FE and Skills), we have launched the following scheme:

The placement will allow you to complete practical components (study and placement hours ) alongside the theoretical component to meet the required Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (FE and Skills) standards.

The work placement includes 150 teaching and 100 non-teaching hours at two locations where you will be assigned experienced and professional mentors to ensure adequate training arrangements. Constructive feedback would be provided to meet the industry requirements, including Ofsted’s expectations. For more information, click here.

In order to cover the administrative costs of this programme, we are unable to offer the course at the standard promotional price of our Level 5 Diploma in Teaching FE and Skills. Therefore, this programme will be offered for £3,499 – discounted up to 60% from our normal price of £5,600.

Work placements will involve teaching two courses: one in your subject-specialist area and another in a non-specialist subject. You are required to select two subjects from the options provided below.

These courses are designed at a basic level to ensure you can effectively teach the units with limited preparation, even with minimal or no prior experience in the non-specialist subject.

Your placement will commence after you have completed Unit 1 of your Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (Further Education and Skills) (RQF). This ensures that teachers are familiar with the fundamentals of education and training before beginning their teaching practice.

Your placement schedule will be arranged in one of the following time slots: 06:00–09:00 GMT or 10:00–13:00 GMT, Monday to Friday, in coordination with learners and mentors, based on their availability, to ensure a smooth experience.

All required documentation and relevant tasks will be completed and provided to finalise your portfolio, with ongoing guidance and support from your tutor throughout the process.

If you do not currently hold Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills, which are a requirement of this course, you have the option to take those courses alongside your work placement to fulfil the eligibility requirements by selecting the suitable option. At Britannia School of Academics, we are proud to offer the Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (Further Education and Skills) (RQF) with required literacy and numeracy skills to strengthen the foundational skills of the learner. Our commitment is to deliver high-quality, accessible education that empowers learners to achieve their career aspirations.

The start date of the course is flexible, as is the case with all other programmes on offer at Britannia School of Academics. For further information about the course, including FAQs, please visit the course page here.

To apply for the course and the included work placement, please select the suitable option for the work placement alone, with English, Maths, or both.
