If you’re looking for a career in education and training, then Level 3 Award in Education and Training (L3 AET) is the best choice for you. Duration and Delivery
This course is designed to be completed online at the pace that suits you. Our Level 3 Education & Training course can take as little as 5 days or up to 4 months, depending on your previous experience and your dedication to the course. This Level 3 AET qualification is delivered through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Our online tutor support is there to facilitate you to achieve your success rate accordingly.
Assessment and Verification
All units within this Level 3 Education & Training qualification are internally assessed by our qualified assessors and externally verified by the awarding organisation. The assessment takes the form of 3 written assignments and the delivery of a micro teaching session, detailed guidance for which will be provided by the tutor once you’re enrolled.
Progression
The successful completion of this 100% accredited online course enables learners to directly proceed to the following qualifications:
- Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF)
- Focus Awards Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (RQF)
In addition, this level 3 teaching course will also prepare you to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) to enhance your teaching profile.

Entry Requirement
- You should be aged 19 or over to undertake the qualification
- Not have a criminal background which prevents you from becoming a teacher
Practical Requirement
You must be involved in at least one hour of microteaching. You must deliver at least one 15-minute microteaching session that is observed and assessed. For the other 45 minutes, you can either deliver additional microteaching sessions or observe the microteaching sessions of fellow participants.
If you are currently teaching, you may prefer to use your practice instead of microteaching to meet the practical requirements.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed via three written assignments and the planning and delivery of a microteaching session. The micro-teach can be on any topic.

Micro-teaching is a 1-hour session that illustrates teaching practice for the Level 3 Award in Education and Training
Do I need a workplace or a real class to deliver my lesson?
No, the Level 3 Award allows the simulation of the lesson. You can deliver your lesson at the workplace/classroom or at home, but you have to have real learners.
How do I provide evidence of teaching?
Record the session on your smartphone/tablet PC or other camera device, upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and then send us a link.
Will I have to sit an exam?
No, you will be assessed by the coursework alone.
