In both cases, you must be 21 years or older at the beginning of the course and have a satisfactory level of Literacy and Numeracy skills.
There is no practical requirement for this qualification.
You will be assessed via a portfolio of evidence you submit containing six written assignments (one for each unit). The L7 DEML is for those working or who wish to undertake a job as a teacher or a trainer in state schools in the UK. It is also an excellent choice for those who want to develop themselves as leaders in an educational setting and prepare themselves for such roles as head of departments, academic dean, headteacher, etc.
The Level 7 diplomas on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) are at the same level as master’s degrees. However, they are shorter (120 credits) and learners will have to proceed to the dissertation stage (60 credits) with university to achieve a full masters programme.
There is no specific time frame to complete the course. Most learners complete it in as less as 2 months (fast track) or up to 1 year (full time).
You must possess an honours degree in a related subject, or UK level 6 Diploma, or an equivalent overseas qualification. However, no formal qualification is required for mature learners who have 5 years relevant management experience.
